Are you planning to visit Marco Island, because you’re considering relocating? If that’s the case, and you’re hoping to come when it’s not as busy, come see us soon!
The population of Marco Island quadruples to 55,000 people during March and April because of Spring Break. We have the most gorgeous beaches, so March and April get very busy. Our economy is fairly reliant on these tourists. They support eco-tour operations, shops, restaurants and more. The busiest window of time starts at the beginning of March and runs through the middle of April. It’s six weeks of excitement, but by around April 23rd, spring vacations are over and another crowd also leaves Marco Island.
Marco Island normally has around 15,000 full time residents, but we also have friends from the North, we call “snowbirds.” These are people who live North and escape to Southern Florida to avoid the harsh northern winters, but head back north once Spring returns.
So, if you want to see Marco Island the way it is for most of the year, don’t visit during the Spring Break rush!
