Mark your calendars for these worthwhile fundraising events happening in February on Marco Island.
Wet Paint Live
The 11th Annual Marco Island Wet Paint Live event happens Thursday, Feb. 15. Twenty local artists will paint “en plein-air”—painting outdoors—and capture the beauty of Marco Island from various locations that provide great views.
After the artists’ paintings are completed, they will be displayed at the Marco Island Historical Museum’s Rose History Auditorium starting at 5:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. the art will be auctioned live.
Before the auction, you’ll be able to nibble on gourmet hors d’oeuvres while you view the art and contemplate a bid. There will also be a silent auction of original artwork. Proceeds from both auctions will benefit the Leadership Marco Scholarship Fund and the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce.

Fish Fry Fridays
The Knights of Columbus San Marco Council #6344 will host a fish fry dinner fundraiser every Friday from Feb. 16 until Mar. 23. The fry will take place at the San Marco Parish Center from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. You can go out and enjoy a dinner that includes baked or fried North Pacific cod, a baked potato or French fries, coleslaw, and a roll with butter. Children can get macaroni and cheese. Beverages will include coffee, and there will also be a cash bar. For dessert, ice cream will be available. You can also have your food to go. The cost is $13 per person; $5 for children under 12.
The event is open to the public and patrons are asked to bring a baby item to fill a play pen to benefit the Pregnancy Center in Naples.
