There are two beach clean-up events scheduled in September for Marco Island. Despite the fact that you’re cleaning, these are great fun for all participants.
Evening Beach Clean-Up
The first is the Evening Beach Clean-Up, which is set to commence on September 5 at 6 p.m. Volunteers are to gather at the South Beach Boardwalk where they will receive their beach cleaning supplies. Everyone is welcome to participate.
This month’s sponsor, furnishing all the clean-up supplies, is the Optimist Club of Marco Island.
Friends of Tigertail Beach Clean-Up
The second beach clean-up event of the month takes place on September 16 at 8 a.m. It is the Friends of Tigertail Beach Clean-Up, and it takes place at Collier County Tigertail Beach Park.
The Beach Advisory Committee holds these clean-ups almost every month. Volunteers have a fun time together making our beaches pristine and clean and keeping the natural area free from litter.
The city provides all cleaning supplies, and they include garbage bags, gloves and water. Volunteering as a beach cleaner can provide hours of community service. All youth volunteers receive a certificate of participation.
