When you live on Marco Island with a four-legged family member, you know how important it is to spend quality time outdoors together – and fortunately, Canine Cove is the perfect place to do just that.
All About Canine Cove on Marco Island
Canine Cove is a fenced-in, off-leash dog park located at 1361 Andalusia Terrace. There are two sides: one for large dogs (25 pounds or more) and one for small dogs (25 pounds or less).
With plenty of space for dogs to stretch out and run, ample shade from towering trees, and benches for human guests, Canine Cove is one of the most popular hotspots on the island for dog-lovers.
The park has dog fountains, but you’re always welcome to bring your own water dish. There are on-site trash cans where you can dispose of waste (don’t forget to bring your own doggie bags, though).
Canine Cove Rules
Like any dog park, Canine Cove has rules – and perhaps the most important is that each pet owner is responsible for his or her own pet’s actions. The City of Marco Island has the right to refuse entry to dogs for reasons of health, safety, prior rule violations or the comfort of patrons and their pets.
All dogs must have current vaccinations, must be licensed, and be free from parasites and infections. Make sure your dog has a collar with an ID and current license tag, as well.
Aggressive dogs, female dogs in heat and puppies under 4 months of age aren’t allowed in Canine Cove. Kids under 4 aren’t allowed, either, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. You can bring one or two dogs, but two is the maximum per person inside the park.
There’s no smoking or eating within Canine Cove, and the park is open from 8 a.m. until dusk.
Where to Park at Canine Cove
If you’re driving to Canine Cove, you can park at the Rec Center and walk across the park, but most visitors park in the lot at Heathwood and Lily Court.
Donate to Canine Cove
Park users and residents are always welcome to donate to Canine Cove. If you’d like to do so, you can mail your donation to:
